Deeds for Real Estate Agents

Before or after a sale, some real property may need to be re-titled. Some common examples include:

• Clients who obtained a VA or FHA mortgage and later wish to add their current significant other or new spouse to title
• A client who is inheriting real property and wishes to sell the property but first needs it transferred out of the Estate of the deceased and into their individual name
• A prior client who has changed their name since purchasing property and seeks advice as to how to update their name on the deed
• A client who was recently awarded real property in a divorce and needs to remove a spouse from title
• Real estate investor clients who need to transfer real property in or out of their business entities (i.e. LLC’s) prior or subsequent to a sale
• General prior clients who return to you for advice on how to add family members onto title or who wish to create life estate deeds

Oftentimes, title companies or general real estate law firms are pre-occupied with high priority matters such as settlements or litigation, resulting in deed transactions sometimes becoming secondary.
